Michael Reaver is an accomplished Army veteran and expert in police and military dog training. Serving in the Army for six years, he was deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, Macedonia, and Africa. Michael’s passion for dog training began early, successfully training several dogs by the age of eight. By 14, he was assisting Adlerhorst with dog procurement in Eastern Europe and, at 16, he earned Police Dog titles after attending several handler courses.

At 18, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 1st Armored Division in Germany, where he participated in Schutzhund training and supported procurement efforts. During his service, he was part of the initial deployment to Iraq and married his wife in Germany. After his discharge in 2005, Michael returned to Adlerhorst.

As a full-time Police Dog/Handler trainer, Michael has achieved numerous milestones. In 2006, he conducted courses for Canadian and German military units. In 2010, he trained the first Mobile Odor Dogs for LAX Police, successfully deploying explosive dogs while Auburn University studied the feasibility. From 2011 to 2016, Michael trained Tier One Military Units, including several foreign units and the FBI SWAT team.

In 2016, Michael and his wife Veronique returned to Adlerhorst. He was contacted by Johns Hopkins University for programs similar to LAX, and in 2017, he provided explosive dogs for the Super Bowl in Houston. Michael continues to bring his extensive experience to Adlerhorst, enhancing their Patrol and Detection Courses and ensuring personal involvement in dog procurement trips to Europe.
